Tree of Caring
The Stanton County InterChurch Ministries was started in the 1980s to provide assistance for friends in our county who were having temporary needs beyond their abilities. A fund was established with generous contributions to assist in such emergencies as winter heating and electrical bills that would otherwise go unpaid. The Tree of Caring, a Christmas tree decorated with ornaments, identifies anonymous children in our county who need assistance with Christmas gifts and food. Individuals, businesses and families take ornaments to purchase new gifts from the list provided on the ornament for these children. These are wrapped and delivered with a holiday feast for the whole family. All of Stanton County’s churches are involved in the Tree of Caring program. This Tree of Caring program is design to provide Christmas gifts, food and a ray of hope to these families.
A note from Stanton employees on why they chose to support the Tree of Caring...
We chose the Tree of Caring because it is a local charity that we all believe in; furthermore, the entire community gets involved with this program. The Tree of Caring is important to the Stanton community because it helps many residents in need of help and has a positive effect for our children, as well.
